And doesn't do spammable AoE double strike damage like MS/DB.

FACT!

Leave Way of the Assassin where it should be, uncaptured (unless you're skill hunting), therre are much better options.

Seriously.

its like every other build, it takes some getting used to.

but i will admit to it being a bit more complicated than moebius

and havoc, that would all depend on your definition of "spam". If you mean, one skill right after another, then no, it does not spam. If you mean using a skill as quickly as possible after you cast it (say, on recharge) then yes, the WotA build does spam DB.

but enough of this. I have proven what i set out to prove, and that was that, complicated or not, my build can "get the job done" damage wise. Now i say its up to you to either accept that and move on, or keep getting stuck on this whole obsession. I personally, am done with it all.

How cute, Golden Fang in your build, no Golden Fang in MS/DB. Want me to point out the differences between Golden Fang Strike and Wild Strike?

wow, your powers of observation fail so utterly. Please at least try to understand what you are being a pretentious ass about, then your pompous assery might have some basis in fact, though it will still probably have the import of verbal flatulence.

damage wise, and that's all. Your build uses up so many slots to do the same thing as MS/DB, that its not even comparable in terms of being a good build.

Back to cleaning toilets if you don't know what's going on, cadet. That's all, dismissed.

Well, I may not post much, but I sure know whats going on better than you do, his build has wild strike in it. Good job on noticing that.

His build has both [wild strike] and [golden fang strike]. His moebius test did not include golden fang strike on the ms/db bar.

Before you go about posting and insulting others, I recommend you actually try to comprehend what the argument is about.

I'm not a 100% sure what I "don't understand" but, aren't they different builds? I guess it is possible to see this in a context of one elite versus another in the exact same build, but that's kind of pointless, different skills synergize with different skills. So, the only way to make a completely accurate test is to compare the builds, not just the elites. In this case, MS/DB spam does not use golden fang strike, his build uses both.

Also, just for reference, if you used golden fang strike in MS/DB along with wild strike(using your logic that the builds have to be the exact same) you would never use golden fang strike anyway b/c the point is to spam MS/DB, so whether it's there or not is irrelevant.

The point here is that Psyko's build tries to emulate what MS/DB does so he can stack crit. His dps is comparable, but the he loses alot of utility. His combo gets shut down by any kind of block, and is not as efficient with the use of [Vigorous Spirit] hence why it is regarded as inferior.

Where did I state in my logic that both builds have to be exactly the same? Please don't make baseless assumptions. The piont of [Golden Fox Strike][Wild Strike] is to compensate for melee's natural weakness to blocking in the form of stance removal. Since he's doing a dps test vs Master of Damage, you really wouldn't need the unblockable start of the chain. [Unsuspecting Strike] followed by [Golden Fang Strike] is more suitable for pure damage, and should be compared accordingly.

If the DPS test was shorter, then US>GFS will be more favorable because of the intitial spike. After that, its just DB/MS/DB/MS/DB/MS. Since both tests were 3 minutes long, it favored WotA more because of the stacking of criticals. But what is not accounted for is the DB dps vs multiple targets, where MS/DB shines because of instant recharge at the 50% breakpiont.

Sorry for misunderstanding, but that could easily be seen as implying that they had to be the same.

Also, while his build is vulnerable to blocking, so is MS/DB, neither of them is unblockable. And, yes I do know the whole beginning of the chain is unblockable, but most enemies don't activate their blocking stances until a couple hits anyway, so wild strike can take care of that.

and, to be honest, I don't care which is better, I don't even play a sin. I just thought it was worth pointing out that some of the arguments that people are using to say it's bad don't make a lot of sense, last time I ever do that.

Moebius/Blossom bores me to tears when I'm playing with my guildmates. This template probably isn't the best, but I enjoy it. I use it primarily to kill key enemies in PvE, specifically Monks and Mesmers.

11 + 1 Dagger Mastery
10 + 1 + 2 Critical Strikes
10 Deadly Arts

[Unsuspecting Strike][Palm Strike][Death Blossom][Impale][Critical Eye][Critical Agility][Shadow Walk][Dash]

Bring a weapon with +20% to enchantments and a zealous dagger. I typically use Hidesplitter's Daggers, but just about anything will do. Cast Critical Agility with your +20%, swap weapons, cast Shadow Walk, and 1, 2, 3, 4. Once your chain is over, hit the enemy a few more times and use Dash to escape.

It's incredibly useful to know what enemies will be in the area because this template has a pretty decent amount of counters (blocking, enchantment removal, etc.). The quick killing power, however, is what makes it shine.

I'd like everyone to remember the title of this thread:
Favorite General Assassin build?
not:
Best Assassin build?

As this is obviously a flame magnet for several people here. Just... don't.

But go ahead, take your lil Way of the Assassin.

Oh and by the way, Healing Hands is the best elite for a warrior. Don't let the rest of the community fool you.
Forgive my lil WoTA................sheeeesh, I don't play with the same build, my Assassin build constantly gets modified, right now the Elite of my Choice is WoTA, 2 weeks from now I can go back to MS, next week I could be running a Deadly/ Shadow/Daggers build........... it's the same with my other character, using the same build gets BORING.

Holy crap, people are still posting in one of my threads? This is a first O_o.

And I could have sworn Vamperic only makes the life stealing damage unconditional and didn't add on to it....

[golden fox strike] or [disrupting stab] [golden lotus strike] [wild strike] [death blossom] [moebius strike] [shroud of distress] [shadow refuge] [resurrection signet]

I use this basic mindless build for pve and works good for me

Good against Rangers and Warriors since it removes stances

Slower against Monks… but this is no problem since they are healing themselves. This allows me to spam death blossom even more
